GFR WEEKLY UPDATE


HOME GAME

Gala Fairydean Rovers entertain Edinburgh University in a Lowland League fixture at the Netherdale 3G Arena on Saturday. The team will be looking to build on the excellent victory at Cumbernauld last weekend and three points would move them up to eighth spot in table. Premier Club cards apply for this match which kicks off at 3p.m. Otherwise the admission prices are £5 for adults and £3 concessions. Prices have been reduced due to the stand being closed.

AWAY DAY

Gala Fairydean Rovers Amateurs are off to Ancrum on Saturday for a Border Amateur C Division fixture. Kick off is 2pm. Last Saturday the team almost salvaged a draw with a late fightback against Selkirk Victoria eventually going down 4-3.

2006 SQUAD

The under 13s recorded a 5-2 cup tie win away to Haddington Athletic on Sunday. The GFR scorers were Lewis Douglas(2), Shayne Bell, Oliver McClymont and Reegan Stisi. This Sunday the team play Salvesen in the Ken Ritchie Cup. Kick off at the Netherdale 3G Arena is 12.30pm.

2005 SQUAD

The under 14s departed from the Willie Bauld Cup on Sunday going down 7-1 away to Edinburgh South. This Sunday the team host Earlston Ryhmers in the Kenny McLean Cup. Kick off at the Netherdale 3G Arena is 2pm.

2004 SQUAD

THERE were goals aplenty at the Netherdale 3G Arena on Sunday as the under 15s defeated Currie FC 9-5. This Sunday Edinburgh South are the visitors to the Netherdale 3G Arena, kick off 11am.

2003 SQUAD

The under 16s never really recovered from a poor start conceding three goals in the opening few minutes and went down 7-3 to Leith Athletic Colts at the Netherdale 3G Arena on Sunday afternoon. This Sunday the team is away to Portobello in a Division one fixture.

LOTTO

There were no winning tickets in the Gala Fairydean Rovers Lotto draw. For the record the numbers were 7, 12 and 20. That means the estimated jackpot this weekend is £800.

BONUS BALL

John Clayton was the £50 rollover prize winner with number 17 in the Gala Fairydean Rovers Bonus Ball competition.

CASH FOR KIDS

DONATIONS of any unwrapped new Christmas presents for the Radio Borders Cash for Kids Mission Christmas appeal are being received at the Gala Fairydean Rovers clubrooms at the weekend from 10am. Please pop the gifts into the decorated box in the bar area.

PREMIER CLUB

The winners of the November draw for the Gala Fairydean Rovers Premier Club draw were: £100, Alan Thomson; £50, Jock Riddle; and £25 Lesley Waldie.

RAFFLE

LOOK out for the Gala Fairydean Rovers Christmas Raffle tickets which are now in circulation. There are many valuable prizes including two tickets for a Manchester United home game and a Christmas hamper. Tickets are priced 50p each. The draw will take place in the GFR clubrooms on Thursday, December 27, at 6pm.
