GFR WEEKLY UPDATE


AWAY DAY

IT'S back to East Kilbride again this Saturday for Gala Fairydean Rovers after the heartache of the injury-time Scottish Cup third round defeat last weekend. This time Lowland League points are up for grabs. Kick off at K Park is 3pm. A supporters bus will be running to this game departing from the clubrooms at 11.15am. Cost of the return journey is just £6.

The club would like to thank all the supporters who travelled to East Kilbride for Saturday's Scottish Cup tie and giving the team such a fantastic backing.

LEAGUE GAME

Gala Fairydean Rovers Amateurs travel to play St Boswells this Saturday in a Border Amateur C Division fixture. Kick off time is 2pm. Last Saturday the team got back to winning ways with a 2-0 win over Tweeddale Rovers Colts at the Netherdale 3G Arena. Derek Foley and Declan Bell were the scorers for the home team.

2006 SQUAD

The under 13s were in goal scoring form at the Netherdale 3G Arena on Sunday with an 11-2 league victory over Cramond. The scorers for Gala were: Lewis Douglas(3), Frazer Swan(2), Chris Wilson(2), Harris Fairgrieve, Lyle Gillie, Evan Beattie and Oliver McClymont. This Sunday the team travels to play Musselburgh Windsor in an Edinburgh Cup tie.

2005 SQUAD

The under 14s came out on top in a Willie Bauld Cup tie at South Kirkliston South Queensferry on Sunday which saw 13 goals. GFR got nine of them to progress into the next round. This Sunday the team is due to play Currie Star at the Netherdale 3G Arena, kick off 11am. although this fixture has still to be confirmed. Up-dates will be provided on the club Facebook page.

2004 SQUAD

The under 15s gave an excellent account of themselves winning 4-2 at Oxgangs on Sunday. This Sunday the team is at home to Edinburgh City. Kick off at the Netherdale 3G Arena will be either 12 noon or 12.30pm. Please check club Facebook page for update.

2003 SQUAD

The under 16s went down 7-0 away to Arniston Rangers in the SportsAssist South East Region Cup on Sunday. This Sunday the team hosts Hutchison Vale in a league match. Kick off at the Netherdale 3G Arena is 2pm.

LOTTO

THERE were no winning tickets in the Gala Fairydean Rovers Lotto draw. For the record the numbers were 1, 8 and 18. That means the estimated jackpot next week is £400.

BONUS BALL

JIM Gray was the winner of the £25 prize in the Gala Fairydean Rovers Bonus Ball competition with number 10.
