CUP DAY
GALA Fairydean Rovers will be running two buses to Saturday's William Hill Scottish Cup third round tie at East Kilbride. The first one, predominantly for players and coaching staff, will leave the clubrooms at 11.15a.m. while the second departs at 11.45am. To book your seat, add your name to the sheet on the noticeboard in the clubrooms or call 07767 645354. Cost of the return journey is only £6.
No alcohol allowed on the buses.
HOME GAME
For stay-at-home supporters, Gala Fairydean Rovers Amateurs entertain Tweeddale Rovers Colts in a league match at the Netherdale 3G Arena on Saturday, kick off 2pm. Last Saturday the team recorded a 6-2 win over St Boswells with Declan Bell(3), Martin Gibson(2) and Lewis McGill on the scoresheet.
2006 SQUAD
The under 13s impressive run in the Scottish Cup finally came to an end at Airdrie on Sunday with the team going down 6-2 to Clarkson Athletic. The GFR scorers were Harris Fairgrieve and Frazer Swan. The team are back on home territory this Sunday with a league match against Cramond FC. Kick off at the Netherdale 3F Arena is 11am.
2005 SQUAD
In a hard-fought match, the under 14s edged home 2-1 against Lasswade Thistle Reds at the Netherdale 3G Arena on Sunday. A screamer from Callum Marshall and a Kai MacRae strike proved to be enough for the victory. This Sunday the under 14s are away to Kirkliston South Queensferry in the Willie Bauld Cup.
2004 SQUAD
The under 15s recorded an emphatic 4-0 victory over Dalkeith on Sunday in a league encounter at the 3G Arena. Turning in a highly impressive performance, Gala controlled the game brilliantly and played some scintillating football throughout with the goals coming from Tor McGillivray, Aidan Purves and a brace from Ben Hawkins. This Sunday the under 15s are away to AC Oxgangs.
2003 SQUAD
Another thrilling encounter at the Netherdale 3G Arena saw the under 16s lose out to Broxburn Diamonds 4-2. Scorers for GFR were Adrian Kulik and Calum McGowan. The team travel to play Arniston Rangers YFC in the South East Region Cup on Sunday.
LOTTO
There was one winner in the Gala Fairydean Rovers Lotto draw. Phil Ward won £1,000 with numbers 6, 10 and 19.
BONUS BALL
The quadruple rollover for the Gala Fairydean Rovers Bonus Ball competition was won by Neil McDougall with number 32 which earned him £100.
HALF TIME DRAW
The winner of the Gala Fairydean Rovers 50/50 Half Time Draw at Saturday's game versus Edusport Academy was Harry Hamilton who collected £30.50.
DAVID PEDEN
A minute's silence was held before Saturday's match against Edusport Academy in memory of former Fairydean player from the 1960s David Peden who sadly passed away on Friday. The club wish to pass on their condolences to his family.
