GFR WEEKLY UPDATE

MIDWEEK FIXTURE

DUE to the odd number of teams in The Ferrari Packaging Lowland League, Gala Fairydean

Rovers have no fixture this weekend, but there is a tasty Borders derby against Vale of Leithen scheduled to take place at the 3G Arena next Wednesday kick off 7.45p.m.

Premier Club cards will apply for this match. Otherwise the admission prices are £5 for adults and £3 concessions.

2004 SQUAD

The under 13s hit the goal trail against Beechwood FC in horrible conditions at Netherdale with no fewer than seven different goalscorers. In a totally one sided cup game Gala's passing game and tempo was too much for the away side to cope with and Gala ended the game well into double figures without reply. The goals came from Damien Konowalski (5), Jack Niven (4), Ross Moffat (4), Tor McGillivray (3), Cameron Riddle and Aaron Milburn who netted his first of the season. Next up is Edinburgh City away on Sunday in the Ken Ritchie Cup.

2003 SQUAD

The under 14s were knocked out of the Willie Bauld Cup away to Tynecastle on Sunday.

This Sunday the team hosts Peebles at the 3G Arena. Kick off 11a.m.

2002 SQUAD

The under 15s lost out 8-2 to Bathgate Thistle in the South East Region Cup. This Sunday the team is on its travels again with a match away to Dunbar United Colts. The under 15s Colts were beaten 5-1 by Edinburgh City at the 3G Arena on Sunday with Harry Green getting the Gala goal.

This Sunday the Colts are at home to Portobello. Kick off at the 3G Arena is 12.30p.m.

2001 SQUAD

In a hard fought game at the 3G Arena on Sunday afternoon, the under 16s lost 2-1 to Edinburgh South with Lee MacRae the Gala goalscorer.

This Sunday the team entertains Gorebridge United. Kick off at the 3G Arena is 2p.m.

2000 SQUAD

A tremendous 25 yard strike from Jack Swaney gave the under 17s the lead against Peebles on the Netherdale back pitches on Saturday afternoon. The visitors equalised but Patrick Carlin notched the winner to allow Gala to progress in the Victor Paris Bathrooms Cup.

This Saturday the under 17s host Blackhall Athletic at the 3G Arena, kick off 2p.m.

LOTTO

NO tickets matched the numbers 2, 7 and 15 in the weekly Gala Fairydean Rovers Lotto draw. That means the estimated jackpot this Sunday will be £500.

RAFFLE TICKETS

TICKETS are now in distribution for the Gala Fairydean Rovers Christmas raffle draw. The prizes include tickets to a Manchester United home match and a Christmas Hamper. Tickets priced 50p are on sale at the clubrooms at weekends and are also being sold by members of Gala Fairydean Rovers Youths and Juniors sections.

REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY

There will be a minute's silence ahead of all home games involving Gala Fairydean Rovers Youth FC this weekend in memory of those who lost their lives in the two world wars.
